CHILD AND FAMILY THERAPY
"Enter into children's play, and you will find the place where their minds, hearts and souls meet"
Virginia Axline
Play is the language of children! Children use play and actions to describe their emotional inner world. I hope to serve as a facilitator; to enhance your child's ability to express their emotions and for you to be able to receive them.
For many kiddos these emotions may be latent, and my goal is to provide a space for your child to find safety in communicating his or her emotions and needs.
If you have a teenager, or preteen, the world is coming at them fast. They are often looking for value and self worth in ways that can create conflict with their caregivers. I am here to hold a confidential space for them, while also working cooperatively to express their needs.
My office spaces afford clients the ability to process feelings through play therapy, sand tray, art therapy, and traditional talk therapy.
I also fully value eco-therapy and embrace the benefit of nature in a therapeutic setting. I incorporate mindfulness techniques in nearly all of my sessions. I have found this to be most effective for some clients in more wide open spaces. On a limited basis, I am available for outdoor/nature based sessions at Shelby Park in East Nashville.
